French director Claude Miller was born in 1942. He started his career in film as assistant director with Marcel Carné, Michel Deville and Jean-Luc Godard. Through working with François Truffaut Miller made his first shorts and has gone on to become a celebrated film-maker, whose work includes La meilleure façon de marcher (The Best Way To Walk), Garde à vue (Under Suspicion) and L'Effrontée (Impudent Girl).
